Posting about this topic will build communities as it will attract people with the same interests. There are so many businesses that have tried to eradicate this issue, so it would not be so hard to put more emphasis on it, since everyone will be aware of it.
Disadvantages of using the hashtag on social media
- Repetition of information
Considering the fact that this topic has been discussed before, not everyone will have the interest in reading the post as they would assume that the content is the same with previous posts and that it's another waste of time- as businesses have implemented strategies into erasing the issue.
- Easy to go viral
Although this heading seems more like an advantage, it is also a disadvantage. If my content is wrong in the way it has been articulated, such as offensive statements; lack of grammar, will make the post ineffective; it will go viral; and might even ruin my reputation.

ReplyDeleteTotally agree this is an urgent need, our environment is currently in a complete mess. Whether it is litter/rubbish, water and air pollution and whether it is created by consumers/people or corporations (its all of the above in my opinion) - more awareness needs to be created. So I support using the hashtag to create awareness. But like you say, just make sure you have a good verification and double checking process on your content.

DeleteI couldnt agree more, it is scary how people dont care about the environment. The killing of the rhino's and other animals in general, the liTtering is shoking. Its about time we do something obout this. we might be too late but its better to be late than not do anything at all. I hope the government introduce some form of punishment to those who are poluting our planet.

ReplyDeleteIt is in our responsibility to look after what is been generated for us and to ensure that we keep it that way for the next coming generation to find it in the same state as we did. But how do you get or convience people to be active on keeping our environment clean at all times, instead of them waiting for campaigns and start getting involved and thereafter you no longer see them with the same enthuasim to carry what they agreed on.

ReplyDeleteDeforestation is becoming a problem in our area Gauteng, because of the removal of trees and vegetation to allow for progress affect the area where the community lives. The people and the government allow the removal of these trees in order to make way for the development and the provision of services to take place, such as the construction of RDP houses,town houses,shopping complexes,malls,internal and national roads and the installation of infrastructure,water,sewer and electrical cables.
Another major problem of cutting down of trees in our community is that the elimination of trees has allowed less and less oxygen to be pumped into the environment. This reduction in oxygen is one of the main causes of global warming.
